1 teaspoon salt, divided
½ teaspoon black pepper
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 ½ pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 cup dry orzo pasta
2 ½ cups low-sodium chicken broth
½ cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  • Add chicken, remaining ½ teaspoon salt, and black pepper. Cook 5–6 minutes until lightly browned.

  • Stir in orzo, chicken broth, heavy cream, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer.

  • Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes until orzo is tender and cheese is bubbly.

  • Rest 5–10 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

For deeper flavor, take your time caramelizing the onions.
Add a splash of broth when reheating leftovers to maintain creaminess.
You can assemble the casserole up to one day in advance and bake when ready to serve.
